Myriam Lowe

Soprano, Harpsichord

Myriam is currently reading Music as a Choral Scholar at Girton College, University of Cambridge. She sings with both the Girton College Chapel Choir and the Cambridge University Chamber Choir, and has recently been awarded the Daphne Bird Instrumental Exhibitioner, the Girton Pioneer Award for her outstanding contribution to college life, and the First Class Sophia Turle Scholarship in recognition of her academic excellence. Developing a growing interest in opera, she performed the role of Nero in the Cambridge University Opera Society’s 2025 production of L’incoronazione di Poppea.

She studies vocal performance with Kate Symonds-Joy and harpsichord with Carole Cerasi, and has been selected for the CAMRAM scheme, which enables her to receive vocal tuition at the Royal Academy of Music alongside her studies at Cambridge.

Prior to university, Myriam attended the Royal College of Music Junior Department, where she studied harpsichord and voice. She completed her A-levels at Ashbourne College on a full music scholarship, where she was named Most Remarkable Sixth Form Student and included in the 2023 Lexden Prize Roll of Honour.

Her passion for Baroque music began early: at the age of seven, she commenced harpsichord studies at the CIM Padre Antonio Soler in Madrid. In 2019, she began singing lessons with countertenor Gabriel Díaz, deepening her engagement with the Baroque repertoire that has since become the focus of her artistic career.

Myriam’s musical education has been supported by numerous awards and scholarships, including the Monica & Quintin Des Clayes Award from Awards for Young Musicians—granted annually to twenty-five promising young UK musicians from low-income backgrounds—as well as grants from the Rob George Foundation and the Miss E. B. Wrightson Charitable Trust.
